Ghanaian musicians and entertainers Wiyaala and Shatta Wale have been billed to perform at the 2022 edition of the Capital One City Parks Foundation Summer stage. The ghanaian acts will form part of billed artists to perform at the festival’s return to central park and 12 other community Parks in New York.
SUMMER STAGE
The Capital One City Parks Foundation Summer stage forms a part of New York’s beloved outdoor and broadly accessible shows that present and serve fans and music lovers with performances that represent the cultural fabric of New York City. The festival since its inception over decades ago has served over 40million fans and music lovers across the world.
The festival celebrates music genres of New York City’s cultural representation ranging from Jazz, Hip Hop, Latin, and Indie. Due to the outbreak Of Covid 19 pandemic which forced many cities into lockdown, Capital One City Parks foundation launched ‘Summer Stage Anywhere ‘ which allowed musicians and performers to serve viewers with digital performances from all across the world.
SHATTA WALE AND WIYAALA
Shatta Wale highly accorded the title of African dancehall king blends genres of authentic Ghanaian highlife, afrobeat, and his stronghold of being the yardstick of Jamaican dancehall music in Africa. He has received accolades and awards both locally and internationally, and was recently featured by world music Icon Beyonce.
Wiyaala, full named Noella Wiyaala is a ghanaian afro-pop singer and songwriter who sings in English and her native Sissala and Waala languages. She is known for her energetic performances and boasts of a great international audience because of her originality and versatility.
The two ghanaian acts will perform on Saturday, August 13 2022 at Crotona Park. Music lovers and fans are to patronize the show of African dominance which starts at 7 p.m.
