Policy Makers Failed To Take Advantage of Shatta Wale and Beyonce Collaboration— Kojo Antwi Explains.
American singer, Beyonce recruited, arguably, Ghana’s biggest musical artiste, Shatta Wale, on her project, The Lion King Album.
On the Gift Album, shatta Wale and Beyonce did massive work on a song dubbed “Already”. The Afropop tune — which also featured Major Laser, was released on July 19th, 2019.
Shatta Wale contributed to the success of the project — he performed as well as co-wrote the song.
A year later, the American singer released a film from the project, Black Is king, which also featured shatta Wale.
The Album features other artists on the African terrain, notably, Wizkid.
According to Beyonce, She chose the best talents in Music from the African enclave.
Nevertheless, Already has been adjudged as the best song on the album.
While other countries were busy celebrating the win of their artists, It is a known fact that a section of Ghanaians trashed the work shatta Wale did on the project — something that was expected to happen.
Ghana’s legend, Julius Kojo, better known as Kojo Antwi has expressed his opinion about how Ghanaians treated the project.
According to him, policymakers failed to Utilise the opportunity created by shatta Wake and Beyonce’s collaboration.
Kojo Antwi was speaking on Asaase Fm when he made the revelation.
Kojo disclosed while Nigerians are busy promoting and taking over the West African sub-region with music, Ghanaians are still being unsupportive.
He said many treated shatta Wale’s win as personal and did not understand it was a win for Ghana.
He noted that Policymakers could have capitalized on the collaboration to push the young ones to the top.
He added that Guilty beats — who was also featured on the project, was overlooked — that Ghanaians failed to respect the hustle of the personalities and take advantage.
