“Yes, We Took GH450” – Police Issue Release To A Young Man Cur$ing Them For Planting W££d In His Car —VIDEO


The Ghana police have issued a report about a young who rained curses on them for allegedly planting weed and subsequently extorting 500 Ghana cedis from him.

The Asamankese police division has denied claims they planted weed into the car of the young man who is identified as Yaya Tamimu, a native of Anum Apapam-Ayensuamo Consistency.

The Divisional Commander, Asamankese C/ SUPT. Mr. Felix Apedo accompanied by his Divisional Crime Officer, ASP/ Mr. C.T. Apronti traced the victim of the alleged extortion to Anum Apapam. Victim who identified himself as Taminu , unemployed age 31 was met together with his mother Fuseina Kpantey at the premises of the Anum Apapam Police Station.

He informed Police that on Sunday 2/1/22 about 4 to 5 pm, he was driving a DV plated Toyota Corolla saloon car belonging to his friend one Nketiah Frank from Anum Apapam to Asamankese to buy a tyre for his private vehicle. On reaching Sukruntu which is close to Asamankese he met a 5 man team of Police Officers from the National Highway Patrol on board a white pick up No.GP 2517. He claimed he was searched and one of them informed him that they have found a wrap of suspected Indian Hemp on the back seat. That he was arrested and assaulted and it took a friend called Abu who happened to chance upon the scene to plead on his behalf. That the Policemen demanded and collected 500 cedis from him through his friend Abu before he was released.

The Police Officers led by Chief Inspector William Tawiah and including No. 40845 G, Sgt. Ibrahim Iddi, No. 40921 G, Sgt. Richard Otoo, No. 44040 G, Sgt. Samuel Kumah and Cpl. Richard Kpeanaah were invited but they denied planting the suspected Indian Hemp on the complaint. They however admitted collecting 450 Cedis from the victim through his friend Abu before releasing him. Meanwhile statement has been taken from the victim while statement forms have been issued to the Police Officers to submit their written statements.
